Over the summer, I travelled to Arizona, where I worked with Professor Marvin Slepian and his team in the Department of Biomedical Engineering on an ongoing project. We are designing a "Smart Room," which aims to use computer vision and big-data analytics to produce better patient outcomes by extracting healthcare-related information from doctor-patient interactions.
Led my team to four consecutive wins, beating out a field of more than 2,500 competitors, scoring: 2nd place Outstanding Engineering Journal (2014), 2nd Place Outstanding Engineering Process (2015), 3rd Place Outstanding Engineering Process (2016), 1st Place Outstanding Engineering Journal (2016), and 1st Place Outstanding Engineering Journal (2017).
Varsity competitor in Congressional Debate for the last three years. My competitive record from 2017 is as follows: James Logan Invitational, Semifinalist; Cal Invitational, Semifinalist; State Qualifiers, Finalist, 11th place overall; National Qualifiers, 3rd alternate; and a competitor at the State Tournament.
I have been a dedicated member for five years. In 2016, I won 2nd place at Regionals, became the State Champion of “Agribusiness,” and attended Nationals, in Atlanta. In 2017, I won 2nd place at States in “Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure,” and won 8th place at Nationals, in Anaheim. In 2018, I won 1st place at States in “American Enterprise,” earning Cupertino’s first 200/200 perfect chapter project score, and won 3rd place at States in “Electronic Career Portfolio,” qualifying to Nationals for both.
